It’s that time of summer again when mercury reaches high level, so also the tourist arrivals. Mysuru is no exception when it comes to tourists with the abundant attractions in place.
While there was a decline in number of tourists during election hours on April 18, the day 14 seats in the State went to polling in first phase for Lok Sabha, there was a rush in tourist arrivals late in the evening same day. With back to back holidays on account of Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Sunday, the surge in number of tourists has brought smile on the faces of hoteliers.
Hotel Owners Association ( HOA) President C Narayan Gowda said ‘for the first time after Dasara, the hotels have witnessed 100 pc occupancy rate, with rooms booked across the city’.
A tourist operator said ‘ There are about 2500 rooms from over 100 hotels including star and budget hotels, all are booked to their capacity’.
