1 min read

Mysuru: Prominent hoteliers in tbe city demanded the State Government on November 22 to develop the proposed Film City in Mysuru.

Hotel Owners Association president C Narayan Gowda said ” Mysuru is a best tourist destination. However most of the projects announced in the interest of tourism is not reaching its logical end. The previous Congress government had already identified several acres of land to develop Film City at Himmavu in Bengaluru. However, Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwathnarayan has recently said ” Film City project will be shifted to Bengaluru”.

Nearly five lakh people are dependent on tourism in Mysuru. Hence the tourist centric projects should be developed in Mysuru. The previous coalition government wanted to develop a Disney land like project near KRS dam, but did not take off. At least, this plan should be materialised in Mysuru.

The city needs further attractions to cater to tourists. Many environmentalists here are opposing the ropeway project at Chamundi Hill. But, most of the tourist spots in North India boast of a similar facility.

Hoteliers Ravi Shastry, Subramanya Tantri and Raveendra Bhat were present at the press meet.
