Hoteliers urge MCC Commissioner to withdraw hike in trade licence fee

1 min read

Mysuru: Hotel Owners Association (HOA), Mysuru and Hotel Owners Association Charitable Trust has urged Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) to revoke 20 per cent hike in the renewal fee of trade licence.

A delegation of hoteliers led by HOA President C Narayan Gowda met MCC Commissioner G Lakshmikanth Reddy on Tuesday.

Narayan Gowda has shared a copy of memorandum submitted to MCC Commissioner with media.

Gowda has explained that “it would be grateful if the hike in trade licence fee is withdrawn and the hoteliers are exempted from paying 15 per cent fine for the delay in renewal fee. It makes for a total of 35 per cent that will dent the morale of the hoteliers who have been battling hard to stay afloat in the business in this pandemic time.”

Gowda has also reminded the MCC commissioner of the plan made earlier after meeting the previous Commissioner in February to conduct a trade licence renewal drive in March under one roof at HOA office, but postponed due to Covid second wave followed by lockdown that was in place till July 5.

Gowda has urged the MCC commissioner to fix a suitable schedule and conduct the drive at HOA office. The Commissioner has also positively responded, Gowda has stated.

Mahesh Kamath of Hotel Pai Vista, Ravi Shastri president of charitable trust, treasurer Bhaskar Shetty K and Mahadev were present.
