Honour to Tipu’s tomb marks Mysuru Congress’ integrity rally in Srirangapatna

Srirangapatna: Mysuru district city and rural Congress Committee took out aikyata rally (integrity rally) by paying floral tributes to Tipu Sultan’s tomb at Srirangapatna on Sunday.
Former minister and MLA Tanveer Sait who led the rally alleged that “BJP is spreading Canara about Tipu Sultan by denying him the role of a freedom fighter. With this BJP is making all efforts to distort the history of the country. To derive benefits from divisive politics, BJP has been plotting to divide the country, which doesn’t augur well for the country”.
India is a land of peace and harmony which should be practiced by all as it is the duty of all Indian citizens. Congress is committed towards building a tolerant and harmonious nation for all, it is the duty of all the elected representatives, said Sait.
Earlier an aikyata rally was taken out in the main thoroughfares of the town with slogans raised for building an united country.
Mysuru City Congress President R Murthy, rural president Dr B J Vijaykumar, former MLA Vasu, former Mayors Arif Hussain and Ayub Khan, KPCC Vice- President Sudheendra and others were present.
