Home Minister Amit Shah arrives in Bengaluru amid talks of leadership change

2 min read

Bengaluru: Even as the State BJP government finds itself in a beleaguered position with the series of scams tumbling out, Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in the city on Tuesday.

Like every visit of Shah which triggers a buzz, the speculation this time is aplenty, with the today’s visit being the second in a short span of time.

From the talks of leadership change to cabinet reshuffle, with the general elections scheduled next year, curiosity has taken the precedence.

What has fuelled the curiosity is the recent remarks of BJP national general secretary (Organisation) B L Santosh hinting about ‘massive change the party is willing to bring in’.

Shah during his stay in Bengaluru is expected to discuss with Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai about the strategies for the next elections.

This assumes significance as the high command is keen on retaining the power, especially with Karnataka being the only State in south, where saffron party is at the helm.

However, it’s not sure whether the cabinet reshuffle will be discussed during the parley.

Shah will garland the statue of Basavanna at Basaveshwara Circle at 10 AM, foundation stone for various works at Nrupathunga University (formerly Government Science College) and inauguration of NAT GRID campus at Sathanur.

At 5 PM, Shah will attend the valedictory of Khelo India Games at Sree Kanteerava Stadium.

Earlier in the day, Shah arrived in a special flight at HAL Airport.

He was greeted by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and a host of leaders.
