Holy month of Ramzan begins in Mysuru district

Mysuru: Holy month of Ramzan and fasting has began in the district from Sunday April 3. This follows the decision of Mysuru District Moon Committee in consultation with Central Moon Committee in Bengaluru.

The meeting of Mysuru District Moon Committee was held on Saturday under the chairmanship of Sir Khazi of Mysuru Mohammed Usman Shariff at the office of Mysuru District Waqf Advisory Committee.

The meeting discussed about the sighting of moon in various parts of the State.

While the moon was not sighted in the State due to cloudy weather, it was sighted in other parts of the country like Chennai in Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad in Telangana, Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh among several other parts.

Eventually Sir Khazi decided to start the holy month of Ramzan from Sunday April 3.

The resolution was read out by Mohammed Zaka Ulla Siddiqui, President of Mysuru district unit of All India Milli Council.
