Historical Narayana Swamy temple resurfaces at KRS backwaters

1 min read

Mandya: The water level at Krishnaraja Sagar Reservoir (KRS) is plummeting day by day, raising concerns over the uninterrupted drinking water supply to Mysuru.

The historical Narayana Swamy Temple that is buried under water, is now fully visible in the backwaters of KRS dam near Anandur village.

Whenever the temple resurfaces, it’s a rare sight as the temple goes under water, when the water level at the dam touches 100 feet and above against its maximum capacity of 124.80 feet.

When the water level starts falling below 100 feet at KRS dam, the temple resurfaces, drawing a large number of tourists.
