Historian Echanur Kumar, journalist Amshi Prasanna Kumar among 12 selected for Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar Award

Mysuru: A total of 11 eminent personalities from various fields and an educational institution have been selected for Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar award.
On Friday 137th birth anniversary of erstwhile Maharaja of Mysore Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar was celebrated in a simple manner.
Last year district minister had announced the institution of award to identify those personalities who contributed for the society in different arena.
Chamarajanagar based G S Jayadeva from the field of education, Heritage expert Echanur Kumar for the history of Wadiyars, Mandya based Dr Shankaregowda, vocalist Sukanya Prabhakar, Amshi Prasanna Kumar from journalism, Hanasoge Somashekar for Nalwadi literature, Jinahalli Siddalingappa from folklore, Kiragasooru Rajappa from theatre music, Gururaj for rendering Manteswamy songs, Arun Yogiraj from Sculpture, Rajendra for Anna Dasoha and Arivu Education institution.
Award selection committee headed by Deputy Commissioner, included Univeristy of Mysore Vice- Chancellor Prof G Hemanth Kumar, writer H S Ramachandregowda, Prof N S Taranath, Prof C Naganna, and Kannada and Culture department Assistant Director H Channappa.
However the schedule of award ceremony is yet to be announced.
