Hike in engineering course fee! AIDSO stages protest, demands withdrawal of order

Mysuru: Following the hike in fees of engineering courses, All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) staged protest near Deputy Commissioner’s office on Saturday.
State Government recently hiked engineering course fees by Rs 10,000. AIDSO had called for state-wide protest today.
Amidst Covid situation, students joined engineering course, but the state government suddenly increased the fee which is a burden on the poor and talented students, AIDSO activists alleged.
Government has also mentioned 10 hours classes for first year engineering students which is unscientific. The order must be withdrawn, the activists urged.
They submitted a memorandum to DC and higher education minister.
Activists Chandrakala and Asia said “education is the basic rights and it is not money making business. Hence the government must immediately withdraw its order.”
