High Court to hear petitions against CM, DyCM today

Bengaluru: In a rare coincidence, the High Court of Karnataka will on today hear two separate proceedings on the petitions related to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar.
A single Judge will continue the hearing on the petition filed by CM Siddaramaiah, who has questioned the legality of permission granted by the Governor for sanctioning the prosecution against him in Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site case.
Meanwhile, a Division Bench will pronounce its verdict on the petition filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), challenging the State Government’s November 28, 2023, order of withdrawing the consent granted to it on September 25, 2019, to probe a Rs 74.93-crore disproportionate assets case against Shivakumar.
Congress party is closely watching the developments, with both CM and Deputy CM appearing in the HC.
Though there is a general apprehension in the political circles about what would be the outcome, many of the senior leaders reiterate that CM Siddaramaiah has done nothing wrong in MUDA case.
