‘Hero’ of city police dog squad dies of age related illness

Mysuru: Hero the labrador who was a part of city dog squad died of age related illness on Friday. Hero was a trained canine adept at sniffing out narcotic substances and had helped the police in cracking several cases.
Ever since induction into the dog squad on April 04, 2011, after training, Hero was also a part of several mock drills and dog shows in the career spanning 10 years and 12 days in the department. Armed head constable B S Suneeel Kumar was its handler. The last rites were conducted with honour under the supervision of DCP ( CAR) Shivaraju.
RPIs Murthy K M and Somanna, RSI Suresh and other officers attached to dog squad were present.
