Heavy rains: Holiday declared for schools in Bengaluru tomorrow

Bengaluru: Deputy Commissioner of Bengaluru Urban District Jagadish has declared a holiday for both government and private schools across the city due to heavy rainfall on Wednesday.
The weather, usually loved by many in Bengaluru, has taken a turn for the worse, with torrential rains caused by a cyclone over the Bay of Bengal and affecting interior parts of Karnataka.
Many areas in Bengaluru have been transformed into what resemble mini rivers. Even luxury apartment residents have found themselves trapped due to severe waterlogging. Subways and underpasses are flooded, causing traffic congestion and slow movement, leaving the commuters frustrated.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert for the next 48 hours.
