Heavy rainfall: Trekkers restricted from visiting Dudhsagar Waterfalls

1 min read

Belagavi: Due to heavy rainfall, trekkers are restricted from visiting the magnificent Dudhsagar waterfalls at the border of Belagavi and Goa.

The railway authorities took the decision to restrict entry to the falls for the safety of the trekkers.

Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel also imposed penalty on trekkers who attempted to trespass. The ban on trekking towards the falls was imposed due to the hazardous conditions caused by the heavy rain.

In the light of the situation, tourism experts in Karnataka recommend resuming train services between Castle Rock and Dudhsagar, particularly during the monsoon months. This would facilitate easier access for visitors and allow both Karnataka and Goa to fully capitalise on the tourism potential of Dudhsagar during the rainy season.
