Heavy rain in Mandya brings roads under water, hits traffic

Mandya: Following the heavy rainfall throughout the day, causing the breach in lakes, the district is hugely affected with most of the agricultural fields and roads under water.
The roads in Mandya, Mandya-KM Doddi-Malavalli routes are largely affected, with traffic disrupted in the day.
Yet again Mysuru- Bengaluru Expressway is affected with the stretch of the highway partially submerged in water.
The downpour began in the morning that intensified further in the late night hours. The district recived 203 mm rainfall, according to an estimate.
It is for the second time that the Boodanur lake has breached in a short span of two months, damaging the standing paddy and sugarcane crops in the vicinity.
Day before yesterday Kere Tonnuru lake in Pandavapura taluk also breached leading to disruption in several ways in the surrounding areas.
