Hearing impaired students go through heritage lanes

Mysuru: Specially abled students from NAB ITI for blind and deaf were introduced to the heritage side of the city on Wednesday.

A total of 35 hearing impaired students took part in the heritage walk organised jointly by the department of archaeology, heritage and museums in association with Mahajana First Grade College and Rotaract Club.

The walk began from Town Hall and concluded at Mysore Medical College and Research Centre.

Historians N S Rangaraju and Echanur Kumar explained the significance of the buildings that was conveyed by the other experts through sign language.

The walk passed through Palace, K R Circle, Devaraja Market and K R Hospital.

It was a first of its kind walk organised for the benefit of specially abled students. Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar flagged off the walk.

Deputy Director of Archaeology Nirmala Matapathi, DSD Solanki of Tiger Adventure Foundation and others were present.
