HDK to announce Mandya Lok Sabha nominee today?

Mandya: The curiosity over who would contest as BJP-JDS alliance candidate from Mandya Lok Sabha constituency is expected to end today.
JDS State President and former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy is expected to announce the name of the candidate during the meeting of party leaders and workers convened at Ambedkar Bhavan in Mandya town today.
In all likelihood, former Minister C S Puttaraju is expected to be announced as the coalition candidate.
Puttaraju, a former Pandavapura MLA had also served once as a MP of Mandya constituency earlier.
If Puttaraju is made the candidate, sitting Mandya MP Sumalatha Ambareesh, who won as an Independent in 2019 elections and is hopeful on getting BJP ticket this time, will be forced to either contest as a rebel candidate or succumb to the pressure tactics of BJP high command.
