HC order against CM dark day for Karnataka: KPCC Spokesperson M Lakshmana

1 min read

Mysuru: Following the Karnataka High Court verdict, quashing the application of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah challenging the order of Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot for his prosecution in Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site scam, KPCC Spokesperson M Lakshmana described it as ‘Dark Day for Karnataka’.

Expressing his strong discontent at the emergency press meet convened at Congress office here on Tuesday, Lakshmana said, we Will challenge this verdict, in the court of law.

Lakshmana stated “This ruling goes against the Constitution,” and accused the Governor of acting on behalf of BJP, allegedly working to undermine the constitutional principles.

Lakshmana further claimed that, the BJP is actively engaging in operations aimed at destabilising the State Government, unable to accept that a leader from the Backward Classes is leading the State.

He alleged that, the Governor is following instructions from BJP and JD(S) coalition partners.

“We demand that the Central Government recall the Governor or else the BJP will face serious consequences,” Lakshmana warned.

He also made it clear that the Congress will not allow Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to step down.

“If the Governor wishes to continue like this, he might as well shift his office to the BJP headquarters in Malleshwaram in Bengaluru. The Congress high command fully supports the CM and we will contest the next elections under the leadership of both CM and Deputy CM,” Lakshmana stated.
