Mysuru: Former Chamarajanagar MP R Dhruvanarayan on Friday demanded the dissolution of BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, in protest against the brutal gang rape and murder of a woman at Hatras in that state.
Addressing media persons, Dhruvanarayan questioned whether BJP is building Ram Mandir at Ravan Rajya ( as Ayodhya where Ram Mandir is being built is in Uttar Pradesh). It was so brutal that the accused had chopped the tongue of the victim, he added.
“Uttar Pradesh is a goonda state, As per National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) statistics, Uttar Pradesh tops the list of states where crimes against women are reported. It’s only in Uttar Pradesh, where most cases of atrocity against dalit women are reported, with a total of 11,229 rape cases”, alleged Dhruvanarayan.
Coining a new slogan, Dhruvanarayan said “BJP Hatao Beti Bachao” is our slogan. We want to take up the issue across the country. We also demand the President of India to dissolve BJP government in Uttar Pradesh”.
Amnesty international organisation works for the cause of human rights with a global wide network of seven million members. After BJP came to power, the bank accounts of the organisation were freezed. It has made way to blatant violation of human rights, Dhruvanarayan claimed.
Dhruvanarayan also added that the saffron party chants the mantra of Ram Rajya just to please Hindus.
Dhruvanarayan also condemned the police atrocity against AICC leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, who were stopped on their way to Hatras. The BJP government has no moral rights to continue in power.
Varuna MLA Yathindra Siddaramaiah who also condemned Hatras rape case, said “we also condemn the rape incident at Rajastan and also demand a detailed investigation”.
MLA Anil Chikkamadu, former MLA M K Somashekar, Congress district rural Committee president B J Vijaykumar, city congress President R Murthy and other leaders were present.
