Harassed for seeking transfer, KSRTC driver attempts suicide; HDK asks CM to intervene

2 min read

Mysuru: As former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy continues to attack the State government alleging its alleged involvement in cash-for-transfer, a KSRTC driver from Nagamangala depot attempted suicide apparently frustrated over his transfer process. The driver is identified as Jagadish and he is now shifted to Manipal Hospital in Mysuru and is on ventilation.

JDS leader H D Kumaraswamy who visited Jagadish in the hospital on Thursday, said that it’s not even 50 days since the government was formed but already this is the plight of government officials. Coming down heavily on the Congress government, he alleged that Jagdish’s wife is a Panchayat member from JDS party and she is being allegedly pressurized to quit JDS and join the Congress. Since she refused to do so, they (Congress leaders) are now harassing the family. Jagadish who was seeking a transfer has also been harassed over this by officials and frustrated at it, he tried to end his life, Kumaraswamy alleged.

“Reservation has already been announced for Panchayat president and vice-president. Yet, the Congress leaders are doing all this to take revenge,” he alleged and even claimed that a rowdy identified as Mahadev was troubling the family. Worse, the police have not registered an FIR on this, he added.

If the government has some self-respect, let it ask the minister concerned to resign as minister’s post is not permanent anyway.

“I wonder how a seasoned politician like Siddaramaiah is ignorant about all this,” he mocked.
