Handicrafts exhibition at JSS Mysore Urban Haat from December 24 to January 2

More than 40 artisans from all over India including National & State awardees will take part

Mysuru: JSS Mysuru Urban Haat of JSS Mahavidyapeetha is organinising its 124th  handicrafts exhibition from 24-12-2021 to 2-1-2022 under the sponsorship of office of Development Commissioner – Handicrafts, Ministry of Textile, GoI, New Delhi.

After considering exhibitions organised by JSS Mysore Urban Haat during previous years, the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Government of India, Ministry of Textiles, GoI has given us an opportunity to organise first Exhibition at Mysuru and sponsoring this exhibition, according to M Shivananjaswamy, Project Officer, JSS Mysore Urban Haat.

More than 40 craft persons of all over India including National & State awardee are exhibiting and selling their attractive traditional and heritage artifact products in this exhibition. The Exhibition will be opened from 10 am to 9pm on all the days. There is no entry & parking fee for exhibition.

All the precautionary measures of Covid-19 will be taken during the Exhibition as per the guidelines of State & Central Govt.

National & State awardee craftsmen will present live demonstrations in Art & Craft making and display Pujabi Phulkari/Patiyala Suits, Bhagalpur Tassar Silk sarees/duppatta, Bastar Iron Craft from Madhya Pradesh, Horn Products, Grass Mats/ Curtains, Jaipur Kurthas & Raprons, Kanjivaram Silk Sarees, Ilakal Kasuthi and Molakalmur sarees of Karnataka, Jute bags, Tassur silk sarees, Kantha stitch sarees, Banaras sarees and Dress Materials, Boutique sarees and Dress, Bengali Cotton sarees, Kashmir Handlooms, Wood Carving & furniture from Saharanpur, Wood Inlay, Chicken Embroidery, Modern ceramic Arts Murals, Madhubani Painting, Rajasthan Miniature Paintings, Rajasthan Embroidery & footwear, Gujarat Dress, Dry flower, all kinds of Leather & Jute products, Vegetable print Dress Materials, Artificial, Imitation Jewellery, Gem Stone Jewellery, Marble Painting, Karnataka Silk Sarees & Channapattana Toys, Terracotta items and other attractive Handicrafts & Handlooms Items.

The event will be inaugurated on December 24 at 4 PM by Pratap Simha, Member of Parliament, Kodagu & Mysuru.G T Devegowda, MLA & former minister, Mysuru will preside over the function. Dr C G Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSSMVP, Mysuru. Dr B S Manjunathaswamy, Additional Deputy Director & Additional District Magistrate, Mysuru H G Ravindra, Deputy Director, Finance Division., JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Niranjanamurthy, Collegiate Education Division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha K S Sunilkumar, Assistant Director, Handicraft Service Centre, Ministry of Textile, GoI, Mysuru are the chief guests.

The customers of Mysuru and in and around Mysuru can make utilize this opportunity by visiting the Haat and support the artisan’s community.

The City Bus facility has been arranged from KSRTC bus stand -No:117.
