Hamsalekha says sorry over his remarks on Udupi Pejawar mutt seer

Mysuru: Following the brickbats over his remarks on Udupi Pejawar mutt seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha’s visit to a dalit colony, Sandalwood music director Hamsalekha asked apology in a video message.

Hamsalekha had alleged that “food practice is all linked to exploitation by upper caste on deprived communities. It sparked a row and Hamsalekha was trolled for his comments.”

Nele Hinnale, Literary and Cultural organisation had organised author Mullur Nagaraj memorial programme on Friday. Hamsalekha was the chief guest of the event.

After all the controversy over his remarks, Hamsalekha asked apology in a video message.

A few Brahmin organisations had called for protest, but withdrew their plans after Hamsalekha tendered his apology.
