H D Kote suffers worst; 433 acres of crop damaged

Mysuru: Heavy rain and flood has dealt the worst ever blow to the farmers in H D Kote taluk.

The standing crops on 433 acres of land has been lost, along with 199 houses, as per the report from the deputy commissioner’s office on August 10 at 8 am.

In Nanjangud, 34 acres of crop have been lost along with the damage to 102 houses. In rest of the taluk there is no report of crop loss, but the houses have damaged- 87 in Hunsur, 39 in Periyapatna, 14 in Mysuru, seven in K R Nagar, five in Sargur and four in T Narsipur. Four animals have died in K R Nagar.

Mysuru- Nanjangud road continues to be cut off from regular traffic, as the road is closed near Mallanamoole mutt and the alternate route is made from Varuna, Kuppegala and Thayur route.

Hejjige, Rampuraand Suttur bridges are closed.

In H D Kote, Sargur road is closed again due to the collapse of the bridge.

The bridges at  Hyrige and Matakere on H D Kote and Mysuru road is submerged in water. Other bridges at Thumbasoge, Madapura, Chikkoor, Hommaragalli, M C Thalalu and Hosakote are also inundated.
