Mysuru: Opposition Leader in Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah on Thursday
denied any impact of the results of Assembly elections held in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh on Karnataka.

Karnataka is expected to go to elections in April or May 2023.

According to the counting of votes underway, in Gujarat BJP is all set to retain the government for seventh straight term, while Congress will make a comeback in Himachal Pradesh.

Siddaramaiah told media persons in Mysuru “The results were expected, as AAP has eaten away 10 per cent of votes stymying the chances of Congress in Gujarat. While in Karnataka, there is no need for any strategy as we will simply win the elections with no efforts”.

“According to the available information, BJP itself funded AAP in Gujarat to destabilise Congress as AAP spent heavily there. AAP campaigned more vigorously than Congress, but they won very few seats. In Karnataka, AAP lacks force and hence both BJP and JDS may have a truck against congress, but Congress will win easily”, Siddaramaiah claimed.

At Himachal Pradesh, anti-incumbency worked against BJP and Congress is emerging as a single largest party with majority. There is no Modi Hawa, even if it exists why they lost Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections? Siddaramaiah questioned pointing that the prime minister resides in the same city.

Karnataka BJP leaders lack guts to control BJP coalition government in Maharashtra. With regard to the simmering border dispute, BJP is not ready to solve the issue eyeing political gains. Both the BJP governments are playing a game in Belagavi issue. If BJP is truly concerned about Belagavi,  it  must go in front of Prime Minister and seek his intervention and solve the issue. The Maharashtra government should be reminded that Mahajan Committee report is final and whole of Belagavi belongs to Karnataka, Siddaramaiah stated.
