GSSSIETW’s fifth national level IEEE Project Competition-2021 receives good response

Mysuru: GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), Mysuru had organised fifth national level IEEE Project Competition-2021 under IEEE Student Branch (STB1786) in association with IEEE Bangalore Section and IEEE Mysuru Sub-section on June 26.

The inaugural function was held on
webex platform. Chief Guest Dr K R Suresh Nair Chair, IEEE India Council Founder and CEO of Design Alpha did the honours. 

Guest of Honor was B S Bindhumadhava IEEE Bangalore Section Scientist G & Senior Director CDAC Bangalore and Special Guest Puneet Kumar Mishra, Vice Chair (Professional Activities), IEEE India Council, Head, SACT&D, ISRO, Bangalore.

In his inaugural address Suresh Nair spoke about the importance of participation in technical competition by the students along with academic performance to meet the industry standards.

He also mentioned that, it is a platform to find future entrepreneurs and researchers who can contribute to the society.

He also highlighted the activities of IEEE Banglore section and the support given by the government of India to transform idea into product for the young entrepreneurs.

Bindhumadhava appreciated the organiser for receiving such a huge number of quality projects in the competition.

He appreciated all the jury members and coordinators.

He mentioned that the multidisciplinary and multi institutional projects will enhance efficiency and competency in research and product development components.

Puneet Kumar Mishra appreciated the quality of the projects received in the competition. In his speech he spoke about the opportunities in satellites andspace technology in the fields like telecommunication, navigation, earth observation, etc..

He suggested students to think in the direction of being an entrepreneur in the field of space technology.

Dr M Shivakumar, Principal, GSSSIETW expressed that competition is a platform
for the students to exhibit their ideas and skills acquired by them for learning.

He mentioned that the fifth National IEEE Project Competition received a good response from participants of various institutions across  the country.

He also thanked all the jury members for being an counterpart in success of the event.

The significance of project competition was highlighted by Dr Parameshachari B D, IEEE Student Branch Counsellor, Professor & Head, Dept. of TCE.

After the inaugural function, 50 parallel sessions were conducted to evaluate the
projects in virtual mode on google meet platform.

IEEE Project Competition received around 1000 projects across India among which only 750 projects were selected for competition. Projects selected for this competition are segregated into 50 Sessions, based on the domain.

Academicians and experts were invited from various reputed colleges and companies across India to evaluate the projects. A total of 50 best projects were selected as Best Projects which will be awarded attractive cash prize and certificate.

Dr S Padmashree, Professor, Department of ECE, GSSSIETW, rendered invocation, followed by welcome address by Dr G Manjula, IEEE SB Faculty Advisor, Assoc. Prof, Dept. of ECE. 

The best wishes for the success of the event was conveyed by Dr M Jagannatha
Shenoy President, GSSS(R), Mysuru, Vanaja B Pandit, Hon. Secretary, R K Bharath, Management Committee Member & CEO GSSS(R) and Anupama B Pandit, Administrative Officer, GSSSIETW.

Finally, the event was concluded by Vote of
thanks by Keerthi Kumar M, Asst. Prof, Dept. of TCE, GSSSIETW, Mysuru.
