GSSSIETW Alumnae Association, Mysuru, hosts talk on “Insights on Youth Skill development during Pandemic”

Mysuru: GSSSIETW Alumnae Association (R), Mysuru had recently organized an Alumnae talk on “Insights on Youth Skill Development during the Pandemic” by the Alumnae for the first-year students of all the engineering branches of the institution.
The programme was graced by Gouthami R, Business Support Specialist, SAP Labs India Pvt. Ltd (EEE – 2013 batch), Sahana R, Software Development Engineer, Lenskart (ISE – 2020 batch), Mrudula R, Application Development Engineer, Unisys India Pvt. Ltd (CSE – 2019 batch) and Bhoomika M R, Associate Software Engineer, Accenture. (ISE – 2020 batch).
Mrudula R and Sahana R emphasized on the skills to be acquired by the students as required by the IT industries, must to do additional courses outside the curriculum, software languages to be known and they also spotlighted on How to select the courses and the ways to strengthen their resume.
Bhoomika M R in her talk highlighted the importance of interpersonal skills and the communication skills and she also mentioned the necessity of strong basics for the working environment.
During the session she also shared her interview experiences and focused on how to answer during the interviews and also about the expectation from the company from its employees.
Gouthami R, in her session turned the spotlight on yet more important aspect “Time Management”.
She elaborated on the seven habits for the time management, the importance of time management and she motivated the students to prioritize the things which would help them to have a better career and advised the students to focus on developing their technical, interpersonal and communication skills with the effective utilization of the time available during the pandemic.
All the alumnae, during their sessions advised the students to keep themselves updated with new technologies and be industry ready so they are employable.
They also motivated the students by sharing their experiences during their college days, challenges faced during the placement interviews and also highlighted on the importance of additional skills to be employable, and all the alumnae interacted effectively with the students and answered all their queries.
Overall, the session was very informative, efficient and motivational to the students.
Dr M Shivakumar, Principal, GSSSIETW and Mahadevaprasad, Head, Training and Placement, GSSSIETW graced the occasion.
