Grape growers delegation meets Union Agriculture Minister in Delhi

New Delhi: A delegation of Grape growing farmers led by Rajya Sabha Member Iranna Kadadi and ex-MLA Shahjan Dongargaon called on the Union Minister for Agriculture Shivaraj Singh Chouhan at Krishi Bhavan in New Delhi on Wednesday.

They submitted a complete report pertaining to problems of the Grape growers.

The delegation appealed to the Union Minister to announce Minimum Support Price (MSP)and Insurance facility for Post Harvest Drying Process and Marketing Fecilities.

The Union Minister assured the delegation positively in this regard.

Vijayapura in North Karnataka is the highest Producer of Grape, accounting for 16 percent of the total Grape production in the State.

Belagavi, Bidar, Bagalkot and Chitradurga are the other Grape growing districts of Karnataka.

Ex-Zilla Panchayat Member Mudakannavar and other farmer leaders were also present.
