Govt mulls over reintroducing Akrama-Sakrama in Mysuru too

Mysuru: District Incharge Minister ST Somashekhar has stated that the Akrama- Sakrama project which was reintroduced in Bengaluru will be reintroduced in Mysuru too after discussing with the chief minister.

He was speaking at the review meeting of development programmes undertaken in the backdrop of Covid-19 pandemic here on Thursday. The meeting was chaired by Urban Development Minister B A Basavaraju.

Minister Basavaraju lauded the district administration for its efforts in containing the spreading of Corona virus. He promised support from the government for such good work. “We want to have Corona-free state. I appeal everyone to work in this regard” he urged.

He further said that in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Mysuru City Corporation has suffered hundreds of crores of losses. He told meeting that he had urged chief minister to provide grants to the civic bodies too. He has promised to look into this, Basavaraju added.

On water crisis in Mysuru district, Basavaraju said that he held a discussion with Mandya DC on acquisition of lands. A meeting will be held with Mysuru DC soon to address the issue. If any government land is granted for the purpose, then work will be taken up soon, he informed.

MP Pratap Simha, MLAS SA Ramadaas, G T Devegowda, DC Abhiram G Sankar and others were present.
