Government will declare Hunsur as flood prone: Vishwanath
1 min readMysuru: Former minister A H Vishwanath has said that the State Government will declare Hunsur as a flood prone area.
Vishwanath said on Friday “37 houses have been totally damaged in tribal hamlets and 670 houses are partially damaged. A report has been sent to the government and the government has released Rs 3,800 towards each of the 220 houses as relief amount”.
A whopping 4,000 acres of crops have perished in flood water and majority of the losers are tobacco, ginger, cotton and other farmers.
Tobacco growers will be given s compensation of Rs two lakh from tobacco board and a report has been also sent to the government to include ginger as State crop.
The district administration has set asideRs 1.5 crore for flood relief works, said Vishwanath.
