Gopinatham range will soon have wildlife safari

Chamarajanagar: Wildlife enthusiasts will have yet another reason to visit the district as the Forest Department is planning to allow wildlife safari at Gopinatham, soon.

This will be the third wildlife safari in the district apart from Bandipur and K Gudi camp. The Gopinatham range comes under Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary.

It is said that the safari will be available from 6 am to 10 am and 4 pm to 6 pm. A safari counter will be set up by the forest department at Gopinatham Mystery Trail.

The government had granted Rs 5 cr in the last year’s budget to boost eco-tourism in Gopinatham. Conducting wildlife safari is one of the primary objectives of the eco-tourism initiative.

Currently, the Jungle Lodges and Resorts takes out visitors on safari routes.
