Mangaluru: The prestigious Canara High School Association’s Canara Cultural Academy was inaugurated by Goa CM Pramod Sawanth at Mangaluru here on Wednesday.

Paying rich tributes to the Canara educational institutions, Goa CM Sawanth observed that the institution has been a name to reckon with, thanks to the values taught here. “It was not easy for an educational institution to grow during British rule. But for the past 132 years, Canara Educational Institution has proved that nothing is impossible and one must thank the values taught here,” he added. He further said that it’s a matter of great honour to inaugurate the academy that aims to identify and nurture an individual’s potentiality. The academy will be a great source of human resource that will manifest youth’s power and coming at the time of ‘Amritkal’, the academy complements Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of an empowered nation, Sawanth said. He unveiled the logo of the academy on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Canara Administrative Board secretary M Ranganath Bhat said “It was our long-pending dream to set up the academy and we are happy that it has been materialised now.
