Garment traders at K T street argue with cops over reopening shops

1 min read

Mysuru: Demanding the authorities to permit reopening of shops, garment traders on K T street exchanged words with police on Monday.

Some of the merchants particularly those running textile shops demanded the authorities to permit them to reopen.

As they have downed shutters for two months, incurring losses, hundreds of textile shop owners who gathered at K T Street junction near old Dasprakash Hotel argued with the policemen for some time.

As the district is under category II, with relaxations given for select commercial establishments dealing with essentials, by extending business hours up to 2 pm from June 25, the city is limping back to normalcy.

Industries are also allowed with 50 per cent staff and KSRTC buses have also resumed operations from today morning.

But, not all the commercial establishments are allowed to open, with the threat of Covid remaining still.
