Gang rape case! Cops conduct spot mahajar, take accused inside 500 metres of crime scene

Mysuru: The city police investigating into the gang rape case on Monday conducted the spot mahajar.

The police led by DCP (Law and order) Pradeep Gunti took the four of the five accused arrested in the case to the crime spot off Lalithadripura main road near the foothills of Chamundi.

The police took the accused to a distance of around 500 metres inside the secluded covered by green patches in the spot, where they committed the heinous act on August 24.

As the case is still under investigation, the accused were brought with their face covered in mask.

It may be mentioned that a gang of five to seven persons sexually assaulted a girl student, who had gone to the place along with her boyfriend. They allegedly assaulted the youth, before sexually assaulting the girl.

As it was a sensational case, police tracked the accused in Tamil Nadu recently.

Total five including a juvenile were arrested in the case, with all being natives of Tirpur in Tamil Nadu.

While one of the accused is still on the run, the speculations are rife over the involvement of one more accused in the case, taking the total to seven.
