Ganesha festival: Minister R Ashoka chairs meeting at BBMP, lists do’s and don’ts

Bengaluru: Revenue Minister R Ashoka said “BBMP will set up temporary ponds at lakes to immerse Ganesha idols during the forth coming Ganesha festival.”
Presiding over a meeting, Ashoka said “No organiser will be permitted to get into the pond to immerse idols. A designated place will be given for placing the idols. The expert swimmers will be roped in to immerse the idols.”
A team of officers including ACP and AEE-rank officers will keep a tab on immersion and following of Covid Appropriate Behaviour. Besides, mobile tanks will be operated to the localities for the benefit of people. These mobile tanks will be fitted with mikes to make announcements.
Those planning to organise Ganesha festival in public must seek permission from BBMP. The police and BBMP AEE will take a call on related requests, he added.
