Mysuru: Avadhoota Datta Peeth’s Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji has donated Rs 25 lakh for the chief minister’s calamity relief fund on August 12.
The swamiji handed over the cheque to Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa during his visit to the ashram. Swamiji has donated the amount to be utilised for the benefit for flood victims in the State.
Following the flood, Swamiji conducted Devi Bhagavatha Saptaham for a week from August 5 to 12, seeking blessings from mother Goddess for relief from heavy rains that has caused misery to States.
Junior pontiff of the ashram Datta Vijayananda Theerta, MLAs S A Ramadass and L Nagendra and BJP State secretary M Rajendra were present during the chief minister’s visit to the ashram.
