From urban to rural, Covid-19 spread rattles Pensioner’s Paradise

Mysuru: The rising number of Covid-19 cases, everyday, has shaken Mysuru to no end.

By April 19, the total number of cases touched 84 of which 69 are from Jubilant Generics Limited, Nanjangud, 10 cases had a link with Tablighi Jamaat, two affected persons had returned from Dubai and the remaining two had contracted the virus from those worked in Jubilant.

The rising numbers have become a big headache for the district administration. It is not yet clear how the Jubilant Generics became the epicentre of the virus, it is equally, perplexing that how a 72-year-old man from Nazarbad contracted the virus, despite having no history of travel or contacting anyone with the infection.

What more, some of the non-descript places in the district have now been listed as the affected places. Villages like Someshwara Pura, Hebya and Mosambayanahalli have been listed in Covid-19 map.

Besides, the officials have also listed some of the areas in the City like Janatha Nagar, Nazarbad, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Nagar, Srirampura, Gokulam, Jayalakshmipuram, JP Nagar and Kuvempunagar as affected by the Covid-19.

Currently, 62 persons have been hospitalized in designated Covid-19 hospital.
