Fresh coat of paint to beautify Jayamarthanda Gate at Mysuru Palace

Mysuru: The uncertainty over the scale of Nada Habba Mysuru Dasara this year remains still due to the fear of Covid-19.

But, the Mysuru Palace Board is leaving no stones unturned to deck up the palace that will be the cynosure of all the eyes irrespective of grandeur of annual event. 
 
The works on applying a fresh coat of paint and lighting works are on, besides sprucing up the gardens, which enhance the beauty of the major tourist attraction of the state.
 
 
The initial stage of works on painting at Jayamarthanda Gate is on. The gate is considered as a gateway to annual pageantry as the elephants selected to take part in Dasara every year are welcomed into the palace at this gate.
 
 
Palace Board has taken up works at the cost of Rs 13 lakh. The garden area is spread over 70 acres- 50 acres inside the palace and 20 acres outside the palace. The Board is also preparing 5,000 flower pots to be exhibited during Dasara season. 
 
T S Subramanya, Deputy Director of the palace board told Mysoorunews.com “Dasara High power committee meeting is still pending. It is only after the meeting,  we will get a clear picture on Dasara”.
 
Following the lockdown due to Covid crises, we took up preliminary works at palace premises like painting and sprucing up of  garden, said Subramanya.
