Four Transport Corporations of State win Awards 

 

Bengaluru: Four transport corporations of the State have achieved five National Public Bus Transport Excellence Awards for 2022-23, given by the Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU). 

 

Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has got two awards for innovative branding and image-building practices, Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) was recognised for its innovative operations of Astra electric buses, Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) was adjudged for best road safety practices, and North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) was also awarded for road safety initiatives.

 

The award ceremony is scheduled for March 15, 2024, at ASRTU, New Delhi, where the awards will be presented to the respective road transport corporations.

 

ASRTU was established on August 13, 1965, with a membership of 62 State Road Transport Corporations, operates under the directives of the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India. With 59 years of expertise, ASRTU focuses on enhancing the road transport system nationally.
