Mysuru: The works on four lane Bogadi- Gaddige road is nearing completion and is expected to be dedicated officially by another one month in June.
The Team Mysoorunews went around the road under construction and found that the work from a stretch of road from Bogadi lake junction to a stretch of road beyond Ganagarahundi has been already completed with kerb stones
being kept as medians. It’s really a pleasure to drive on this road though it is elevated to its left near Ganagarahundi from Bogadi side.
While a stretch of road after Halli Bogadi is still being laid with crushed stones, the road rollers are being used to level the same on a warfooting. As and when the heavy vehicles pass through this particular stretch the plume of dust that raises above adds to motorists woes.
The electric poles are being replaced near the church junction at Bogadi.
The public works department has taken up the work at the cost of Rs 27.15 crore in two packages. A package of ongoing work covers 8.5 km stretch of road from Bogadi outer-ring road junction to Beerihundi. The existing intermediary lane is converted into four lane to widen the stretch from 5.5 metres to 15.5 metres, by spending Rs 17.5 crore. In another package the works from Beerihundi to K Hemmanahalli is already completed at the cost Rs 10 crore. It’s a two lane road now.
With new layouts sprouting in the vicinity of Bogadi- Gaddige road adding to the growth of Mysuru city beyond the ring road junction, the newly laid road will bring relief to the residents of such extension areas.
