Four arrested for trespassing into Bandipur, gun seized

Mysuru: Forest personnel have arrested four on the charge of entering Bandipur National Park recently. While one has gone at large, the police have seized a gun from them.

The accused are- Venkatesh Gowda alias Guarantee Gowda of Gendetthur in H D Kote taluk, Mahadeva Gowda of Jakkahalli, Puttaswamy of Mosaralla and Ganesh of Kalasur. While Machi Venkata is at large.

The accused had entered the forest through Gundre range on March 08. It had come to light through camera trap.

RFO Shashidhar led team of forest men who were investigating the case, traced Mahadeva Gowda of Jakkahalli with the help of the photo. Later, the gun hidden by him at his farm house was seized. With his help three others were arrested.

According to Mahadeva Gowda, they had set out on catching fish, before entering the forest. This had led to a dispute among them.
