Foundation laid for Vishnu memorial in Mysuru! Actress Bharati describes it as happiest moment

Mysuru: It is close to 11 years since actor Vishnuvardhan passed away in December 2009, the fans can now heave a sigh of relief with the memorial for their favourite actor coming up in Mysuru.

Kudos to the relentless efforts of late actor’s family members who did not rest till their wish was fulfilled.

The late actor’s wife Bharathi Vishnuvardhan described “it as the happiest day in her life”.

“We waited for a decade to see this day. I thank all of them, especially Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa who took a special interest. Aniruddh and Keerthi struggled for this memorial to become a reality. The government and officials concerned also coordinated with our family”, Bharati said.

Ten years and so many changes and the patience helps. Like Vishnuvardhan who was ambitious in his life, the memorial should serve as a center to encourage youths ambitious about cinema and arts”, said Bharati.

MLA G T Devegowda said “the government has released Rs 11 crore grants to build the memorial. It will truly become an ideal place”. 

ZP President Parimala Shyam, Deputy Commissioner Sharath B and others were present. 
Memorial highlights 
Five acres land, 35 metres circular gallery, water pond and fountain, Vishnuvardhan statue. 
Special auditorium with separate staff rooms, office and director cabin and other facilities will come at the memorial area.
Vishnuvardhan was born in Mysuru on September 18,1950. His first name was Sampath Kumar, who got a screen name Vishnuvardhan after his film Nagara Haavu became a runaway hit.
The actor who debuted in Vamshavruksha a Kannada film had acted in over 220 films including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. He died on December 30, 2009 here in Mysuru.
