Foundation laid for Mysuru’s first ‘Pink Toilet’ near D Devaraja Urs road

Mysuru: If all goes according to the plan, the City of Palaces Mysuru will have exclusive toilet for women in the heart of the city.

It will also be a first of it’s kind in the city especially after it was announced in MCC budget three years ago in 2019.

Chamaraja MLA L Nagendra laid foundation for Pink Toilet behind Chamundi Guest House on Dewan’s road near D Devaraja Urs road on Friday.

The toilet will be built at the cost of Rs 37 lakh using 14th finance commission grants. The area falls under Ward 23 of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), according to M S Praveen Kumar PA to MLA Nagendra.

Mayor Sunanda Phalanetra, Corporator Prameela Bharat, leaders Rajendra, Paramesh Gowda, Vigneshwar Bhat, Harsha, Papanna, D Devaraja Urs Shop Owners Association President Veerabhadrappa, treasurer Narthan, Suvarna and Sindhu of MCC UGD and water supply wings, UGD AEE N S Madhukar, Junior Engineer Jagadish, PWD AEE Gowrish Gowda, Assistant Engineers Mohammed Ayub, MCC Deputy Commissioner ( Development) Mahes, Zone- 6 AC Manjunath, Assstant Engineer Mohan, Contractors Prasad and Manu were present.
