Mysuru: Dr H K Kalappaa, a retired bureaucrat has passed away in the city on August 18. He was 71.
He was ailing from heart related ailments and was undergoing treatment at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research in the city.
He had served as the director of central silk board.
He was the childhood friend of former minister A H Vishwanath and was also the inspiration behind Vishwanath penning his popular book- Halli Hakkiya Haadu. Vishwanath had devoted two pages to recall his bond with Kalappa.
A native of Hittane Hebbagilu Village in Periyapatna taluk, Kalappa had his early education along with Vishwanath. After his retirement, he had involved himself in Uppara Community activities.
Kalappa leaves behind wife, two children and a large number of relatives.
The last rites will be conducted on August 19 at his farm house near Duddagere cross on Mysuru- T Narsipur road.
