Former President Radhakrishnan’s grandson calls for grooming patriotic spirit since birth

Mysuru: Dr Subramanyam Sharma the Chairman and Managing Director of Sudeeksha Group, Bengaluru described ‘India as a great country that saw integrity in diversity’.

Sharma is the grandson of late presidents of India Dr S Radhakrishnan and Dr V V Giri. 

Sharma was in the city recently to take part in Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav organised by Sarada Vilas Educational Institutions at its campus in Krishnamurthypuram.

In his address Sharma said “all irrespective of caste and creed have equal opportunities here. We are really blessed to be born in this land called Bharat. The spirit of patriotism should be deeply rooted in the mind of Indians since their birth”. 

We are celebrating 75th year of Independence which is indeed a matter of extreme happiness. It is more celebrated like a festival across the country. It is really meaningful that the freedom fighters are being remembered and the soldiers are being honoured on this august occasion, said Sharma.

Chairman of the institution Dr B M Subraya who unfurled the national flag recalled the contributions of veterans in freedom struggle. 

We are lucky to have born here. Now, we should make efforts towards taking the nation forward by thinking of its welfare and rein in corruption, added Subraya.

Honorary secretary M Chandrasekhar,  management committee members R Narasimha, S L Ramachandra, Nagesh Hanasoge, Dr T K Umesh, B S Parthasarathy and S Nagaraj were present.

To mark 75 years of Independence, equal number of achievers irrespective of social workers, freedom fighters, academicians, scientists, doctors, engineers, music and dance exponents and several others were felicitated.

Vidushi Kavyasri R Rao rendered invocation, while degree College Principal Dr M Devika welcomed. Law College Principal P K Vinitha introduced the chief guests. Pharmacy College Principal Dr Hanumanthachar Joshi did vote of thanks.

Assistant Professors of Law College Prof C Vani and Prof Bhagyamma G compered the event.

The programme was followed by cultural programmes.
