Mysuru: As former Minister B Nagendra is out on bail in the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation Ltd, fund misappropriation case, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that Nagendra would receive a more prominent position after the by-elections, slated on November 13.

CM Siddaramaiah participated in the Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti celebrations at H D Kote, where he also laid the foundation stone for various development projects worth Rs 443.35 crore.

The Chief Minister made the announcement, ahead of voting day in Sandur in Ballari, creating a stir across the district.

During his speech, Siddaramaiah responded to demands from Valmiki community leaders, including Prasannananda Puri Swamiji, who called for a ministerial berth for the community’s elected representatives.

“I won’t make empty promises,” Siddaramaiah said, reassuring that “Nagendra will be given a position. The charges against him were based on false complaints.”
