Former Don Muththappa Rai’s son injured in kill bid; condition critical

Bengaluru: Former underworld don late Muththappa Rai’s son Ricky Rai is critical following a assassination bid near his Bidadi house in Ramanagar district on Friday.
Ricky was travelling in his SUV, when the unknown miscreants opened fire on the vehicle at about 11.30 pm, leaving him injured in his neck and right hand.
He is undergoing treatment at the ICU of Manipal Hospital.
Following a complaint by his driver Basavaraj, the Police have filed a FIR against four persons, it is said.
Ricky, the youngest son of Rai, who is settled abroad, had returned to India recently. His wife and kid stay abroad, while he travels between, on a business tour.
Muththappa Rai had two wives, with his first wife already dead. Even though Rai had bequeathed his assets to his second wife, children, his nephew, house maids and those in his knowhow, the family members had moved court over the assets, leading tona property dispute.
The Police are probing the attack on Ricky Rai from multiple angles, as Rai, during his lifetime had many sworn enemies, who were waiting for a opportunity to strike him.
