Former Congress MLA M K Somashekar files nomination for KR

Mysuru: Former MLA M K Somashekar filed nomination as Congress candidate from Krishnaraja Assembly constituency on Monday.
Somashekar who was a two- time MLA submitted his nomination papers at the office of Returning Officer at Mysuru City Corporation.
Somashekar came in a procession along with a large number of party workers. Enroute, Somashekar offered floral tributes to statues of Dr B R Ambedkar at Ashokapuram Circle, Basaveshwara opposite JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Rashtrakavi Kuvempu at Gun House Circle and Maharshi Valmiki at Mahadeshwara temple.
He also offered puja at Chamundeshwari temple at Chamundi Vana and Ramalingeshwara Swamy temple, Chamundipuram main road in the city.
Former Mayors R Purushottam and Narayan, former Deputy Mayor Omkar Prasad, former Taluk Panchayat Member Marballi Kumar, Mysore District Congress Publicity Committee Working President Prathidhwani Prasad, Corporators Lokesh Piya and J Gopi, K R Campaign Committee President Yogesh, former City Congress President T S Ravishankar, Congress leaders Ganesh Rao, Harish Kumar and others were present.
