Mysuru: It appears, all is not well in Congress party too, with a former MLA accusing two of the party leaders for sabotaging his chances in the recent Assembly elections.

Former Krishnaraja MLA M K Somashekar lost to BJP’s T S Srivatsa by a margin of over 7,000 votes in the election, a humiliating defeat indeed for Somashekar who had won twice earlier.
Somashekar has lodged a complaint with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah blaming M Naveen Kumar and M Pradeep Kumar, who were also the strong aspirants for Congress ticket in KR Constituency.
Accusing Naveen Kumar and Pradeep Kumar of engaging in anti-party activities, Somashekar attributed their actions as the cause for his debacle. However, both the leaders have denied the allegations of Somashekar.
Addressing the press persons at Mysore District Journalist Association on Wednesday, Naveen Kumar who outrightly dismissed Somashekar’s claims as false, stated that he had not participated in any anti- party activities.
He asserted that his sole focus had been working for the betterment of Congress party in the Constituency.
Naveen Kumar also challenged Somashekar to provide evidence for his allegations, offering to engage in an open debate. If Somashekar proves his claims, Naveen Kumar also promised to retire from politics.
Naveen Kumar also alleged that Somashekar’s baseless allegations stem from his fear towards the chances of my appointment as the Chairman of Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).
Meanwhile, Pradeep Kumar has also called a press meet at Mysore District Journalist Association on Thursday at 11 am.
