Former CM Jagadish Shettar joins Congress; gets B-Form for Hubballi- Dharwad Central seat

Bengaluru: As anticipated former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar joined Congress party at KPCC Office on Queen’s Road in the city on Monday.

AICC President M Mallikarjun Kharge welcomed Shettar into Congress with the party flag bearing the symbol of grand old party.

Soon after joining the party, Shettar was also given the B-form of the party as Congress candidate from Hubballi- Dharwad Central constituency.

Shettar who addressed media at Congress office alleged that the State BJP office is in the control of a few leaders. I am not criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President J P Nadda or Home Minister Amit Shah. May be they are not aware of the developments of the State.”

Claiming that he was also one among the leaders who built the party (BJP) in the State, Shettar said “I was the next among the senior Lingayat leaders after B S Yediyurappa in the party. Earlier, Shettar received the primary membership of Congress from the party President D K Shivakumar.
