Former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa appeals for girls education

Mysuru: Former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Sunday appealed to the womenfolk to educate girl children.
Participating in various religious programmes organised at Mahantheshwara Mutt, Baradanapura in Mysuru taluk, organised as part of the initiation of junior pontiff of the Mutt, Yediyurappa said, the government has been spending several lakhs of rupees on the education of the girl children.
The women instead of getting them married off, should educate them.
Earlier, following the arrival of Yediyurappa, ecstatic villagers accorded a grand welcome and accompanied the convoy on foot, by raising slogans.
Suttur seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, Tumkur Sri Siddaganga Mutt Seer Sri Siddalinga Swamiji, Baradanapura Mutt Seer Sri Parashivamurthy Swamiji, Kundur Mutt seer Sri Sharathchandra Swamiji, Baby Mutt Seer Sri Thrinethra Mahantha Shivayogi Swamiji, MLAs G T Devegowda and T S Srivatsa, actor Nagabhushan, former MLA and BJP Mysuru City President L Nagendra, General Secretary B M Raghu, former ZP Members Mangala Somashekar and Guruswamy, BJP leader V Kaveesh Gowda and seers from various mutts were present.
