Mysuru: Minor Irrigation Minister N S Boseraju sternly told the officers seeking transfer to come to him directly than seeking middlemen help.

Speaking at the progress review meeting of minor Irrigation department of Mysuru divisional level, at the Regional Commissioner’s office hall, Boseraju said ‘Regarding transfer matters come to me directly and will think over helping you, than going to middlemen. Any complaints, you can bring to my notice.”

Minister Boseraju directed the engineers to complete the works within deadline and also ensure quality. The progress should be in real, not on papers. Any lapses, the officers will be held accountable, said Boseraju.

The information provided to me should be based on facts. In the wake of rainy season, the lake repair works should be completed soon, as the farmers will be put into trouble if there is any breach in lake. Adequate water should be provided to crops through lake and lift-irrigation. There should be coordination between government and the department to effectively implement the plans. Any lapses in the past should be rectified and move ahead, the minister said.

The minister also told the officers to maintain seniority while clearing the bills as works worth several thousands of crores of rupees are ongoing and transparency be maintained while clearing the bills.

Chief Engineer of Minor Irrigation Department Raghavan, Superintending Engineer Kishore and Executive Engineers and officers from Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Kodagu, Hassan and Mangaluru attended the meeting.
